Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
HSHS embraces diversity in order to better serve our patients and allow our colleagues to develop their full potential. We believe that in focusing on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, our system will have a greater impact on our communities, patient health, and quality of life. Growing a workforce that is representative of our patient population is critical. Joining together to be one HSHS includes understanding our colleagues' backgrounds, creating a safe space to bring one’s whole self to work, and ensuring all voices are heard.
Our DEI Statement
At HSHS we are focused on diversity, equity and inclusion with our colleagues, our patients and our community. With our core values of respect, care, competence and joy, we pledge ourselves to create and maintain an environment that empowers, celebrates and supports the diverse voices of our colleagues and the communities we serve. As a health system, we believe we have a moral and business imperative to improve and eliminate health inequities so we can continue to embody Christ's healing love for ALL people.
Our DEI Partnerships
Our DEI partnerships enable us to grow within our communities. We partner with Project Search and numerous DEI programs and clubs within our Colleges and Universities throughout our system.
What Our Colleagues Say
Dr. Charlene Aaron
I love working at HSHS because of the mission, the colleagues dedicated to meeting the mission, and passing it on to our students. I have been at the college for five and a half years, and I am passionate about nursing education. I want everyone who is thinking about obtaining a nursing degree to know that St. John’s College is a safe and inclusive place to learn. HSHS is a welcoming organization, and I have felt like I belong here from the beginning of my tenure.
David Lally
I am proud to serve HSHS largely due to the mission-driven, Christ-centered approach to all that we do to serve our patients. Through my role, I have many opportunities to connect compassionately with community members as well as the patients and families that we serve. These interactions always remind me why we do what we do.
Catie Sheehan
I love HSHS because we are an organization that truly helps people in their greatest times of need. We care for them physically, emotionally, and spiritually. I am honored to serve this ministry in being a passionate voice for compassionate care.
Special Accommodations: What if I need an accommodation for the interview?
No problem! We have a team dedicated to making sure you have the accommodations you need to interview. If you need for us to arrange an ASL interpreter, if you’d like your service animal with you, or if you have something else in mind, just ask your recruiter to connect you to the interview accommodations team. From there, you can confidentially discuss your accommodation options with a trained specialist.
